Teaching

As an instructor, my pedagogy centers on equitable and active learning, focusing on building a learning community that fosters critical thinking. For the past four years, I have been teaching at UC Santa Cruz (UCSC), a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), and a minority-majority university.
I taught a wide range of courses, from 'Rhetoric & Inquiry' to 'Comparative Politics'.  Working with the diverse student body of UCSC has informed my approach, which is centered on presenting the material in many ways, making it accessible and digestible to my students. In practice, this approach translates into implementing active learning exercises that encourage students to make connections between theoretical concepts and real-world examples.
